The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said two men have been arrested in connection to close to a dozen suspicious fires in Norfolk County.

A 30-year-old and a 43-year-old are facing 11 counts of damage to property each for their connection to several suspicious fires in the area.

"Investigators have determined that these individuals were involved in multiple similar incidents throughout Norfolk County between November 2024 and January 2025," police said in a press release sent out on Monday.

The OPP had previously reported at least 11 fires since Nov. 12 in Simcoe, Langton, Delhi, and surrounding areas.

Police said on Sunday at 10:35 p.m., officers, emergency services, and the fire department responded to a fire at an empty barn "on Lynn Valley Road, east of Highway 6, in Haldimand County."

There were no injuries reported.

A few minutes later, at around 10:49 p.m., "officers stopped a pickup truck," that matched the description of a vehicle spotted near another fire from November in Norfolk County.

The 43-year-old was also charged with operation while impaired, while the 30-year-old was charged with failing to comply with probation order.
