This little device could stop you from slouching
What's old is new again, and the same holds true for human evolution. We started off with a hunch in our backs evolving into large, strong cavemen and it seems we're now regressing back to our prehistoric roots — thanks to computers.
But with technology being our downfall in this instance, it could also be the very thing that will save us. At least according to Upright Go - a new Kickstarter would-be product that aims to stop the slouch.
The device weighs 12 grams, is water and sweat proof and can last up to 8hrs on a 45 minute charge. All you have to do is attach it to the lower part of your neck, and when you posture starts to go south, it'll vibrate telling you to sit up.
The product will come with 5 sticker packs that will allow the device to stick to your back. They are double-sided and can last about 15 applications. I would prefer you just surgically attach it to my back, but that's just a personal preference. Maybe someday?
The benefits of good posture are extensive, including relieving muscle aches and fatigue, and it could also delay or prevent arthritis. Proper posture also helps with your breathing and getting sufficient oxygen to your nervous system and vital organs.
Not only that, but it'll help you look good, confident and slimmer. There's nothing wrong with that, right?
You can pre-order the product now, but will it become mass-market and the new standing desk? Doubtful. But I've been wrong before.
