DIY strawberry pockets

A simple way to grow fresh, juicy strawberries in your own backyard (or even indoors!).

Here's what you'll need:

• Landscaping fabric
• Plastic sheeting
• Stapler
• Scissors
• Hammer
• Ruler
• Grommets
• Steel board
• Grommet tool
• Rope
• Strawberry plants
• Gloves
• Soil
• Shovel

Here's how to do it:

1. Cut out squares of plastic sheeting, this will line the pockets and keep water tight.
2. Repeat for all pockets and trim to the same size.
3. Cut out larger squares of landscaping fabric and repeat for all pockets.
4. Fold plastic in half and staple sides together.
5. Fold fabric over plastic and leave a few inches at top.
6. Fold over top to create a lip and staple on either side.
7. Turn over and fold both sides together in the middle to create size of pocket.
8. Fold down and crease as a guideline.
9. Turn back over to front and place first grommet in bottom center.
10. Remove plastic sheeting.
11. Create hole using grommet tool, and insert grommet.
12. Put the plastic pocket back inside.
13. Turn over and fold along creases, then staple together.
14. Trim plastic pocket so it is not showing out of the fabric.
15. Install grommets on top corners of pocket.
16. Trim the top to a straight line.
17. Repeat until you have enough pockets for each plant.
18. Measure two pieces of rope, leaving a bit extra.
19. Tie both pieces of rope together at bottom of rope and thread through bottom grommet on first pocket.
20. Thread through each side through the top grommets
21. Tie both ropes together again to create another knot and repeat until all pockets are threaded on.
22. Fill each pocket with soil and plant your plants.
23. Melt cord ends and hang.
