Hulu recently adapted Charles Yu's award-winning novel, Interior Chinatown, into a television show, starring  Jimmy O. Yang playing a background character actor, whose real life starts to enmesh itself in his television work. It's both a satire of the television industry and a critique of how the media treats Asian people. 

Writer Jen Sookfong Lee chats with Elamin Abdelmahmoud about the adaptation of Interior Chinatown and if its metafictional premise translates on screen.
