CBC's David Common tried a number of Pan Am sports in the run-up to the Games to see how challenging it really is to be among the best.


Kailah Macri is used to people not understanding her sport.

Yes, it's like figure skating. No, there is no ice.

Yes, there are roller skates. No, not roller blades.

It may all seem like a throwback to disco times, but Macri is poised and graceful and speedy without the benefit of slippery ice.

Every country can enter just one competitor in this sport, so Macri is Canada's best shot.
