Pan Am and Para Pan Am Games ticket holders will get free transit within the designated Games region during the upcoming sporting event.

Ticket holders can show their tickets to get free transit on the day of the ticketed event. Their tickets will get them on GO Transit, the TTC and 12 other regional transit systems.

The announcement is part of The Ontario Ministry of Transportation's plan to ease traffic congestion during the games.

"Letting spectators get on public transit for free will help make the Games accessible and affordable for families. Whether you're going to the Games or going to and from work this summer, taking transit can help you avoid delays and reduce traffic throughout the region," said Steven Del Duca, the Ontario Minister of Transportation.

The Ministry of Transportation says they expect the games to draw 250,000 people and 7,600 athletes to Ontario.
