The Toronto Blue Jays will start their first playoff run in 22 years on Thursday at the Rogers Centre against the American League West-champion Texas Rangers.
The Blue Jays clinched the American League East title on Wednesday, but were unable to secure home-field advantage for the entire should they go past their round with Texas.
Since clinching the East, Toronto went 1-4 in their last five games, while the Central-winning Kansas City Royals won five straight to conclude the season and lock up the top spot in the American League.
The Blue Jays will have home-field advantage for the American League Divisional Series against the Rangers.
