Chilly Gonzales on The Memoirs of Hector Berlioz
Canadian musician Chilly Gonzales shares his thoughts on The Memoirs of Hector Berlioz.
Chilly Gonzales is a Canadian pianist, producer and composer. He recently read The Memoirs of Hector Berlioz.
"The most interesting part of Hector Berlioz is that he wasn't a piano player. They say that piano is the universal instrument. It's true most composers began as piano prodigies or at least had some facility of the instrument. It's very rare that you find one of the big composers who really couldn't find his way around a piano at all."
Chilly Gonzalez's comments have been edited and condensed.
