Canada Reads 2020: Why Amanda Brugel is championing Samra Habib's memoir We Have Always Been Here
Canada Reads, CBC's annual battle of the books, is back next month for another round of high-stakes debate. This year's theme is "one book to bring Canada into focus."
Over the next couple of weeks on q, each of the five panellists will defend their book choices. Today, we hear from actress Amanda Brugel who is best known for her roles in Room, Orphan Black, Workin' Moms, Kim's Convenience and The Handmaid's Tale. She joined host Tom Power to discuss why she's defending We Have Always Been Here by Samra Habib.
You can catch the Canada Reads debates starting on March 16 on CBC Radio One and at cbc.ca/books. You'll hear a lot more from the 2020 panellists in the coming weeks on q.
