No Price is Right for Rosie O'Donnell

Rosie O'Donnell has changed her mind about filling Bob Barker's shoes on The Price is Right.

Rosie O'Donnell has changed her mind about filling Bob Barker's shoeson The Price is Right.

"You know, if they were able to do it in New York, it would be a different story," O'Donnell said in a video posted on her website announcing she was out of the running for the job.

"But it looks like it's — ain't gonna happen."

O'Donnell, 45, said it was a childhood dream to host The Price is Right, but she fears the adjustment would be too big for her family.

"Well, here's the thing: I don't really need a job," O'Donnell said.

"So to get my entire family uprooted from their lives and move them across the country so that I can have a fantasy childhood indulgence, you know, job … it just doesn't seem fair."

O'Donnell lives in Nyack, N.Y., near New York City, with her partner, Kelli, and their four children.

O'Donnell said she had a "nice lunch" with producers of the popular game show last week.

Barker, who retired earlier this month after 35 years on the job, had said he had "no doubt" O'Donnell would make a fine host. But last weekBarker said he didn't mean to endorseanyone as a host and had no say in the matter.

The Price is Right is on hiatus until a new season begins next fall.
