O'Donnell says she'd jump at Price is Right job
Rosie O'Donnell is very interested in the job of hosting The Price Is Right.
A posting on her blog confirms that she will meetwith The Price is Right producers this week, and she "sure would" accept the job if it's offered to her.
"I LOVE THE PRICE IS RIGHT," she wrote in capital letters.
Bob Barker, who retired from the show two weeks ago, endorsed O'Donnellas his replacementafter the Daytime Emmy Awards last Friday.
"She knows the show," said Barker, the game show's host for 35 years.
"There's no doubt in my mind she could do the show. Now, whether they want a lady host, I don't know. I've never heard that discussed. As far as I know, they've only auditioned men."
CBS and FremantleMedia North America, which produce The Price is Right, have said they want the show to continue, despite its long association with Barker.
O'Donnell, who once had her own chat show, resigned as co-host of The View earlier this spring.
Amongothers said to be under consideration for the job are Todd Newton of the E!network, Mark Steines of Entertainment Tonight, and actors George Hamilton and John O'Hurley.
