Captain America: Civil War trailer soars online
First peek goes viral on social media, rockets past 3 million views online overnight
The voracious appetite for superhero movies continues unabated, with the trailer for the forthcoming Captain America: Civil War racking up more than three million views overnight and soaring on social media after debuting on Jimmy Kimmel Live Tuesday night.
Two stars of Marvel Entertainment's Avengers universe — Chris Evans (Captain America) and Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man) — were on hand to unveil the clip from the third solo Captain America film.
Set to hit theatres May 6, the movie sees the return of Anthony and Joe Russo, the brothers who directed sophomore instalment Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Running roughly 2½ minutes, the trailer pits Captain America and Iron Man against each other.
