Windsor police conclude investigation near Huron Church Road

Windsor police have concluded an investigation in the 2100 block of Huron Church Road that lasted just over two hours Tuesday afternoon.

Police notified public about the investigation around 2:30 p.m.

Windsor police have concluded an investigation in the 2100 block of Huron Church Road that lasted just over two hours Tuesday afternoon.

Police first posted on X about the investigation around 2:30 p.m., asking that vehicle and pedestrian traffic avoid the area.

In a later post police clarified the road was not closed but said "vehicle and pedestrian traffic should use caution or avoid the area until further notice."

When CBC Windsor visited the scene, police had a parking lot taped off and were advising people to stand back. 

At the peak of the investigation there were five police cars, one fire truck and the Windsor police bomb disposal van at the scene.

Shortly before 5 p.m. police posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, that the scene had been cleared and was once again available to pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
