The Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority is warning strong southwest winds whipping through the western portion of Lake Erie could cause flooding Saturday.

Gusts are forecasted to range between 60 and 90 km/h and waves could top 3 metres overnight.

In a flood watch issued Friday afternoon, the conservation authority stated the shoreline could be damaged and the winds could push lake water up onto the land, causing localized flooding.
