Thunder Bay city manager Tim Commisso set to enter retirement
Longtime public servant thanks staff, public for support
City manager Tim Commisso left his final city council meeting Monday night in Thunder Bay before embarking on retirement.
He took the opportunity to publicly thank his colleagues and constituents for their support during his seven years as city manager, after three and a half decades of public service.
"It's about making your community better, and it's about serving people. That's what we are. We are public servants," Commisso said.
"And the true essence of public service is to make people's lives better, and, quite frankly, to make the community better."
The city manager says he hopes he's done just that and adds he has enjoyed his time in the public sector.
Now, it's time for Tim Commisso to say a few words. He's struggling with retiring. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/cbctb?src=hash">#cbctb</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/tbay?src=hash">#tbay</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/tbcc?src=hash">#tbcc</a> <a href="https://t.co/4AvbdPSsOI">pic.twitter.com/4AvbdPSsOI</a>
