City councillors in Thunder Bay will settle in for some big decisions on Monday night.

Here are three of the key votes and presentations to watch:

  • Tax ratios - Council will determine how much each property class will pay in taxes. For homeowners, it's currently set at a 3.63 per cent increase. Businesses can expect to pay 2.4 per cent more.
  • Tax/water credit - Council will vote Monday on a $200 total credit for water and tax bills for low-income homeowners. The program was originally voted down during budget talks, but has been re-introduced.
  • Solar panels - A group from Energy North Bancorp will speak to council about building a solar panel plant in the city. The company said it could create up to 5,000 direct jobs.
