Thunder Bay Bombardier workers set to strike
The union representing over 1,000 workers at Thunder Bay's Bombardier plant has set a strike date of Monday afternoon.
The union representing more than 1,000 workers at Thunder Bay's Bombardier plant has set a strike date.
Unifor local president Dominic Pasqualino said the union has given the company until 2 p.m. on Monday to reach an agreement.
He said the main issues are pension and benefits.
"Well there's still some concessions on the table, we'd like to see those off the table," he said. "We've talked back and forth and we need those concessions off. That's a big issue for the union."
Pasqualino said negotiations have been taking place for almost a month, and the union does not want to be bargaining all summer.
"We have been at the table this morning, we will be at the table this afternoon, we will be at the table all this weekend."
