Ontario's Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is investigating a shooting involving police that took place near Thunder Bay this week.
The SIU said the shooting happened in the area of Highway 11/17 and Pebblestone Road at about 2:15 p.m. Thursday.

An officer then shot the man, the SIU said, who was taken to hospital with a "serious injury."
No officers were injured. An update on the man's condition was not available on Friday.
The SIU has identified one subject and one witness officer. It's assigned three investigators, and two forensic investigators.
