Kyle Brandon Spence faces robbery charge in drug store heist

Thunder Bay police report Kyle Brandon Spence is in custody in the district jail, waiting for a Wednesday court appearance to answer to charges of robbery, disguise with intent, and uttering threats.

The 31-year-old man was charged in relation to a robbery that occurred at the Shoppers Drug Mart on East Arthur Street Monday morning.

Police said a man entered the business just before 9 a.m. with his face blackened with some sort of makeup or dirt. He demanded narcotics from the pharmacy staff and was able to make it out of the store with some drugs.

The suspect was apprehended by staff members in the parking lot. While under their control, he allegedly threatened the staff, but they were able to keep control of the accused until police arrived and took custody of him.

None of the staff members were injured.
