Thunder Bay Police release details on 3 armed robberies

City police have released the names of the businesses and descriptions of the perpetrators involved in Tuesday night's three armed robberies on Thunder Bay's south side.

City police have released the names of the businesses and descriptions of the perpetrators involved in Tuesday night's three armed robberies on Thunder Bay's south side.

At about 6 p.m., a male tried to hold up Barb's Laundromat on North May Street at knife point, Thunder Bay Police reported. But the employee picked up a baseball bat to defend himself and the suspect fled on foot immediately.

A couple of hours later, at 8:25 p.m., police were called to the Mac's store on the corner of  Arthur and Franklin Streets. A male with the same description, wearing a bush jacket, entered the store armed with a knife and demanded money. Police said he fled after getting an undisclosed amount of cash.

The perpetrator is described as having shaggy brown hair and a thin build. He was we wearing a black and red checkered bush style jacket, jeans and a black baseball cap with a white logo on the front.

The third incident happened just after 10 p.m., when a male armed with an edged weapon, went into the Shoppers Drug Mart on Memorial Avenue at McIntyre Centre. He demanded prescription drugs. Police said the man fled on foot with some prescription drugs.

No one was injured in any of the incidents.
