A Florida fisherman finds himself $2,200 poorer after conservation officers discovered a cache of walleye in his possession.

The man was fishing on Cedar Tree Lake last June when he was stopped by conservation officers, according to a press release from Ontario's Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.

At the time, officers found the man had already caught his limit of fish, but further investigation showed he was stowing another 11 walleye at his cabin that were previously caught in the same lake.

Last week in Kenora, Ont. the man was fined and was given a one-year fishing licence suspension.
