Airline says industry in northern Ontario 'healthy' after cuts in 2014
Travellers heading east of Thunder Bay will have more options when it comes to flying.
Bearskin Airlines will add one eastbound flight to Sault Ste. Marie and Sudbury daily, along with one return flight, effective September 19, 2016.
After big cuts to the company's schedule in 2014, the company needed more capacity, said Ron Hell, the director of marketing and sales for Bearskin.
"Essentially, we've had demand from our customers for earlier morning arrivals into Sault Ste. Marie and Sudbury, and later return evening flights," Hell said, "demand has come from the business community for that."
Hell hasn't ruled out future expansion, either, as he said the airline industry is "healthy in northern Ontario."
