An 82-year-old Sudbury resident has been charged in connection with a North Bay crash in which a 95-year-old North Bay woman died.

The woman has been charged with careless driving after a westbound vehicle entered into the eastbound lane and collided with an eastbound vehicle, on Dec. 7, on Highway 17, near Dube Road, in the Municipality of East Ferris.

The three people in the eastbound vehicle had to be pulled from the wreckage by fire fighters. A female passenger, 95-year-old Edna Russell, later died in hospital.

Everyone else involved suffered what police called non-life-threatening injuries.
