Kik Messenger 'spam bot' asks users for sexual images

Sudbury Police are warning the public about a 'spam bot' on Kik Messenger — an instant messaging program popular with youth.

Police said they've received reports that a spam bot has requested sexual images from the messaging program. The spam bot has sent explicit content to users as well.

Officers said users can enable a feature on the app to avoid this issue by turning on the "ignore new people" option.
