Hwy 69 re-opened after fatal head-on crash: OPP

Highway 69 near the Killarney turn off south of Sudbury is open again after a fatal head-on crash there early this morning. 

OPP said the crash happened just before 2 a.m. on a two lane section of Highway 69 that is currently under construction. 

Police report that a southbound Chevrolet van crossed the centre line for undetermined reasons and collided with an oncoming transport truck.

The victim, who was the lone person in the vehicle, died at the scene. His identity has not yet been released. 

There is no word on the cause of the crash.
