Saskatoon police say a large rock dropped into traffic from a pedestrian bridge hit a car
The rock smashed the windshield, injured the car's driver, police say
Saskatoon police say a large rock dropped from a pedestrian bridge smashed a car's windshield and injured the driver.
Officers responded around 7:30 p.m. CST Tuesday to a report of a crash with injuries in the southbound lanes of Circle Drive near the pedestrian bridge south of Attridge Drive, according to post on the Saskatoon Police Service's Facebook page.
They found a vehicle with a shattered front windshield. Police were told two male youth had been seen dropping a large rock from the bridge. The rock then landed on the vehicle below, sending fragments of glass into the driver's eye, police said.
"We don't see these types of reports often, and thankfully, the injuries were not serious... but they very well could have been," the Facebook post said.
Police said the alleged rock-droppers have not been found. They were last seen running toward the Sutherland area.
