Third person charged with manslaughter for 2017 Saskatoon shooting
2 men have already been charged in the shooting death of Tyler Applegate, a father of 5
A woman has been charged with manslaughter in the death of Tyler Applegate, who was shot in the backyard of his home last summer and later died of his injuries.
She is the third person to be charged in relation to Applegate's death, and also faces a charge of accessory after the fact to discharge firearm while being reckless as to the life or safety of another person.
Two men were arrested and charged with manslaughter in May. None of the suspects' names have been released.
Applegate was the third homicide victim of 2017 in Saskatoon.
According to an eyewitness, Applegate had confronted a gang member from his backyard, because the man was urinating on his fence.
The witness was with Applegate when the shooter came back later with others, who said they were with the Terror Squad gang. They were in a truck later identified as being stolen.
Then, Applegate was shot in the stomach, the witness said.
