2 men charged with manslaughter for Saskatoon shooting last summer
Tyler Applegate, father of 5, was shot in July and later died from his injuries
Saskatoon police have arrested two men in connection with the death of Tyler Applegate.
Applegate, 27, was shot in the backyard of his 33rd Street home on July 22. He would later die in hospital of his injuries.
The names of the men arrested have not been released.
An eyewitness said Applegate, a father of five, had confronted a gang member who had been urinating on the backyard fence.
The witness was with Applegate when he was shot. He told CBC that Applegate told the man to leave because small children used the yard.
The man left but later returned with others in what was later found to be a stolen truck.
They identified themselves as members of Terror Squad.
Applegate was subsequently shot in the stomach.
The two men are facing charges of manslaughter and accessory after the fact to discharge firearm while being reckless as to the life or safety of another person.
Applegate was Saskatoon's third homicide victim of 2017.
