30-year-old man dies in hospital following gunshot wound to the abdomen
Saskatoon police are investigating the city's fifth homicide of the year, after a 30-year-old man died in hospital on Saturday following a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
An autopsy was performed on Tuesday. Investigators from the Saskatoon Police Service's major crime section are investigating the case with help from other police units.
Around 6 a.m. CST on Nov. 4, police responded to a 911 call of a man being shot at a residence in the 200 block of Avenue V South. They found the victim with a small-calibre gunshot wound to his abdomen.
He was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
At the time of the shooting, police said they believed the victim knew the shooter but that a suspect had not been identified.
There was no update from police Tuesday on whether a suspect has been arrested or charged in connection with the death.
