21-year-old man charged with murder in Saskatoon's 6th homicide of 2019
Police say the man was originally taken into custody as a suspect.
A 21-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder in Saskatoon's sixth homicide of 2019.
On Monday afternoon, police reported that a suspect who had originally been taken into custody has since been charged, according to a police news release.
Officers were called to the 1700 block of 20th Street West on Sunday at roughly 4 a.m. CST for reports of an injured male.
Police and Medavie Health Services West responded to the scene and attempted to save the man, 47, but they were unsuccessful.
Police say the man has appeared before a Justice of the Peace and he'll remain in custody until his next court appearance on Wednesday, July 3.
Members of the Saskatoon Police Service's major crimes and forensic identification units are investigating. Police said an autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of death.
