A 31-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter in relation to Saskatoon's 12th homicide of 2019.

Corey Kittiekaywinnie appeared in Saskatoon provincial court this morning. 

On July 28, police were called to St. Paul's Hospital, where a 49-year-old man was suffering from life-threatening injuries, according to a Wednesday police news release.

Police have identified the victim as Tun Win and say he admitted himself to the hospital on July 27.

He remained in hospital until he died as a result of his injuries on Sept. 13, police said.

Kittiekaywinne, who had originally been charged with aggravated assault, will remain in custody until his next appearance on Oct. 2.
