Environment Canada confirms tornado near Davidson, Sask.
Twister damaged farm near the town, neighbour says
For people who live close to Davidson, Sask., it was hard to miss the tornado which touched down just west of the town Tuesday night.
Brad Baron was driving in near Girvin, which is about 15 kilometres south of Davidson, when he saw the twister drop out of the clouds.
"Basically, right there out my passenger window, I could see this funnel cloud drop down," he said. "It didn't seem too dangerous at the time."
Environment Canada confirms a tornado destroyed a farmyard west of Davidson. Other storm cells moving across the province produced hail the size of tennis balls and softballs.
"It was around 8:15 last night," said John Paul Craig, a warning preparedness meteorologist with Environment Canada. "It lasted on the ground for several minutes then it lifted."
Craig said no other tornados were reported.

Sheri Warkentin, a public health nurse in Davidson, lives on a farm eight kilometres west of the community.
She says the funnel cloud touched down northwest of town in a neighbour's yard.
She and other people in the area helped neighbours clean up.
