Just when fans thought it couldn't get much worse, there is more bad news coming out of Riderville today.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced defensive back Weldon Brown will miss the rest of the season.

The team said the 28-year-old has suffered a torn pectoral muscle.

Brown is the third Rider to suffer a season-ending injury. Darian Durant and Moose Jaw's Levi Steinhauer are also out for the year.

Saskatchewan has been plagued by injuries since week one. Shea Emry, Marshay Green, Mark LeGree, Keenan MacDougall, Scott McHenry and breakout star Ryan Smith are all on the six-game injured list.

Before announcing Brown's injury, the Riders signed Canadian defensive back Dan West. The 28-year-old spent his first three seasons with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Saskatchewan hosts the B.C. Lions at Mosaic Stadium on Friday.
