It's been one year since the body of Kelly Goforth was found in a Regina alley, but time hasn't made things easier for her family.

The 21-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by Clayton Eichler.

She was a beautiful woman ...  the kindest person you'd meet- Maxine Goforth

The 32-year-old made a video appearance in court today. Goforth's family, including her mother Maxine Goforth, was in the court room this morning.

"It's always why, why, why, why my baby? Why her?" Maxine Goforth said. "She was a beautiful woman. Kind, the biggest heart, the kindest person you'd meet."

Goforth said this week has been particularly hard for her.

"It's a year and I can't tell you how hard that is for us," she said. "A first year for everything and that pain will never go away."

Eichler has also been charged with the murder of 23-year-old Richele Bear from Regina.

He will be back in court in October.
