A Regina man accused of killing a young woman in September has been remanded in custody after making his first appearance in provincial court Thursday morning.
Clayton Bo Eichler, 32, was arrested on New Year's Eve and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Kelly Nicole Goforth.
The body of Goforth, 21, was found last Sept. 25 in a Regina back alley.
Her mother, Maxine Goforth, said she had been waiting for police to make an arrest.
"I was getting discouraged on Christmas Day because it was three months and I didn't have my girl with me anymore," she said. "I knew it would come, I just didn't know how long it would take."
Eichler does not yet have a lawyer.
His case has been adjourned until next Thursday.
