There's a high or extreme risk for wildfires in Saskatchewan, particularly on the west side of the province.
The extreme risk zone covers a wide area and runs as far east as Saskatoon, according to the map for April 20 produced by the Canadian Wildland Fire Information System.
Following a winter where precipitation levels were well below normal, it's bone dry in much of the province.
In the south, grass fires are the problem. In the north, it's forest fires.
According to the Saskatchewan environment ministry, there were six forest fires burning in the north yesterday, all of them in the Buffalo Narrows area.
