Coroner continues to investigate death of child found in creek Wednesday
Regina police have ruled out foul play in the death of a 14-year-old boy Wednesday.
The child was found over the noon hour in a creek on the east side of the city close to Fines Drive.
Efforts to revive him were not successful.
Police released a statement about their investigation Thursday morning.
"After thorough investigation into this tragic incident, it has been determined that there is nothing suspicious (criminal) about the death," the statement said.
The coroner's office is still investigating the circumstances that led to the death, with police assisting.
Because it's not a criminal case, the boy's name will not be released, police said.
