A mini-roundabout will be constructed at the intersection in Stanley Bridge, say P.E.I. transportation department officials.

The design changes were announced Wednesday night at a public meeting.

Stephen Yeo, the chief engineer for the province, says concerns expressed by people in the area were taken into account.

"We moved the centre portion a little bit towards Cavendish, realigned a couple of the legs that come into the intersection and instead of concrete in the inner circle and on the approaches, we are just using asphalt with pavement markings on them," said Yeo.

"That seemed to please the residents out there."

Yeo says construction will begin the end of August and wrap up by mid-September.
