Plans for a proposed roundabout at a Stanley Bridge intersection have been revised and will be presented to the public Wednesday evening by P.E.I. transportation officials.

Some residents and business people in the area have voiced concerns about the idea suggesting a four-way stop sign might be just as effective and less costly.

Transportation officials agreed to take another look at the design.

All the concerns expressed at an earlier meeting have been taken into account, says Stephen Yeo, the province's chief engineer.

"We are looking at proceeding ahead with the roundabout but it has some changes and we have taken into consideration the concerns we have heard at the meeting. And we want to present them to the public."

Tenders have already gone out for the $200,000 project, which was slated to be complete by the end of June.

Yeo says the construction period may be changed, but it still should be done within this year.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Women's Institute Hall in Stanley Bridge.
