P.E.I.'s 2016 recreational fishing season casts off
Anyone taking to the water Friday morning should have clear conditions to kick off the recreational fishing season, according to Rosanne MacFarlane, a freshwater fisheries biologist.
Prices for fees and licensing have not changed from last year and catch limits remain the same
Anyone taking to the water Friday morning should have clear conditions to kick off the recreational fishing season, according to Rosanne MacFarlane, a freshwater fisheries biologist with P.E.I.'s Department of Agriculture and Fisheries.
Anglers are anxious to get out there, MacFarlane said, especially after bad weather hampered the start of the recreational season over the past couple of years.
"After the last two harsh winters that we had, when there was a lot of ice on the rivers and ponds on opening day, this one looks perfect. There's no ice to be seen on the ponds and rivers, so everything's a go," she said.
Prices for fees and licensing have not changed from last year and MacFarlane said catch limits will also remain the same.
