Province pledges $300K to Summerside's Inspire Learning Centre
The new centre will replace the existing library
The provincial government will contribute $300,000 towards the Rotary Club of Summerside's Inspire Learning Centre.
Premier Wade MacLauchlan made the announcement during the official launch of the fundraising campaign Tuesday.
Both public and private donors are supporting the campaign.
"Our government is committed to supporting sustainable community-led ideas that will inspire entrepreneurialism, foster economic growth and build stronger communities," said MacLauchlan in a release.
"The provincial government is pleased to join business, community, individual and federal government efforts to support the development of the Inspire Learning Centre."
The Summerside Rotary Regional Library opened in 1989 and welcomes more than 72,000 visitors a year. The Inspire Learning Centre will replace the existing library with a modern facility to serve the entire community.
