The lion's share: Paper Lions lead Music P.E.I. tally

P.E.I.'s May Run music festival wrapped up Sunday with Music P.E.I.'s annual awards party.

Paper Lions was the big winner, taking home four trophies.

  • Group Recording of the Year
  • Pop Recording of the Year
  • Video of the Year
  • Digital Achievement of the Year

A tie

Paper Lions was not the only group taking home Group Recording of the Year.

For the first time in recent memory, the voting for the award was tie, so Ten Strings and Goat Skin also took home that award. The group also won Album of the Year and Group Recording of the year.

Ten Strings and Goat Skin won an ECMA for their album Auprès du Poêle last month.

Kinley was also a three-award winner. She collected New Artist of the Year and Female Recording of the Year Sunday afternoon. She was awarded Songwriter of the Year earlier in the week.

Double winners

The other multiple winners for the week were

  • Dylan Menzie: Male Solo Recording of the Year and Entertainer of the Year.
  • Jon Matthews: Live Production Professional of the Year and Producer of the Year.
  • Garnet Buell: Community Contributor of the Year and Lifetime Achievement Award.
