Beach volleyball players having 'great time' in P.E.I.
Summerside hosts Sandjam beach volleyball tournament
Beach volleyball players got a taste of Island hospitality this weekend during the SandJam beach volleyball tournament in Summerside.
Four Canadian men's and four Canadian women's teams were competing for $10,000 in prize money.
It's the first time the event was held on P.E.I — in past years it was in Halifax.
Some competitors had never been to the Island before, said Andrew Ling, event manager for Sports & Entertainment Atlantic.
"The athletes are having a great time, just taking it all in," he said. "The hospitality of Summerside and P.E.I. has been awesome."

—@mclapointe9Ling said some of the athletes have gone sightseeing in Cavendish and Charlottetown, and have enjoyed the Summerside Lobster Festival.
"The lobster suppers, they're all over that," he said.
