Here are P.E.I.'s top baby names of 2015
June quietest month for Island births
Prince Edward Islanders clearly settled on Oliver as the top name for boys born in 2015, but there was no clear favourite for girls.
According to Health PEI, 14 babies born on the Island in 2015 were named Oliver.
There was a five-way tie for most popular girls' name, with eight babies each getting the top names.
Here's the full list:
Girls
1. Charlotte, Emily, Emma, Leah, Sadie (eight babies given each name).
2. Ellie (seven babies).
3. Addison, Nora, Olivia, Piper (five babies).
4. Alice, Anna, Audrey, Ava, Avery, Brielle, Claire, Ella, Jazlyn, Julia, Khloe, Quinn, Violet (four babies given each name).
5. Abigail, Alexa, Alexis, Alyssa, Amelia, Annabelle, Bria, Brooklyn, Elizabeth, Grace, Lauren, Lennon, Lily, Paisley, Peyton, Ruby, Willow, Zoey (three babies given each name).
Boys
1. Oliver (14 babies).
2. Jack (12 babies).
3. Mason (10 babies).
4. Noah, Wyatt (nine babies given each name).
5. Thomas (eight babies).
6. Henry, James, Lincoln (seven babies given each name).
7. Levi, Liam, Owen, Samuel (six babies given each name).
8. Bennett, Cole, Ethan, Nolan, Parker, Sawyer, William, Xavier (five babies given each name).
The numbers cover Jan. 1 to Dec. 12.
March, September busiest months
With 110 births each in March and September, the months of the spring and fall equinoxes were the busiest in Island maternity wards.
June was the quietest, with just 76 babies. There were also 76 babies born between Dec. 1 and 12.
