Jeff Squires, Cavendish Beach Music Festival producer, addresses concerns

Jeff Squires, CEO of Whitecap Entertainment, the company that produces the Cavendish Beach Music Festival, says with an event of that size, there will always be challenges.

At a public meeting Tuesday night in North Rustico, many in the community said the festival has become too big and dangerous with drunkenness and noise at its worst this year.

While Squires admits the festival's size is a stressor on Cavendish, the surrounding area and the province, he also notes it is a "tourism winner."

The festival and the municipality said all concerns and ideas will be considered before plans are made for next year's festival.
