Inquests ordered in murder-suicide, death at hospital
Coroner will examine circumstances of deaths of Nash Campbell, Patricia Hennessey and Sherry Ball
The province has agreed to hold inquests into the deaths of three Islanders in two different incidents in 2013.
One inquest will look into the deaths of four-year-old Nash Campbell and his 37-year-old mother Patricia Hennessey of Stratford. They died in a vehicle fire on June 21, 2013. Police ruled their deaths a murder-suicide.
Sources told CBC news that Hennessey had lost custody of her son the day before.
The other inquest will be held into the death of 47-year-old Sherry Ball of Charlottetown. She died on Dec. 1, 2013. At the time Ball was a patient at Hillsborough Hospital. Officials said she died suddenly and unexpectedly.
The province says inquests are held when there is "an official inquiry into an unexplained, sudden or violent death that is recommended by the Chief Coroner if questions remain about how the death occurred or if some aspects need to be made public."
The dates for the inquests will be announced later.
