Travellers should show up a little earlier for flights leaving P.E.I. in the morning and evening this summer, says the Charlottetown Airport Authority.

The peak season started last week and goes until the end of August.

Staff expect a busy summer because of P.E.I. 2014 festivities and are trying to accommodate visitors by adding additional flights.

"There will be more passengers arriving at the airport during peak travel times," said airport authority CEO Doug Newson in a news release. "We would like the public to be prepared when flying from our airport this summer."

Beginning Tuesday, Delta Airlines will fly out of Charlottetown and Air Canada will add larger aircraft from Toronto.
