"The tender went out for two structures. One, the walkway underneath the bridge on the Bonshaw for joining the two parks, Strathgartney Park and the new wilderness park, together. And the other is a wooden structure on the Green Road that crosses the West River," said Vessey.

The Bonshaw Public Hills Lands Committee — struck to recommend uses for additional land purchased by the province during construction of a new section of the Trans-Canada Highway — had recommended upgrades to the Green Road bridge, but it washed out in the spring.

"We are going to put a new structure in there," said Vessey.

Vessey said the province continues to work on the committee's recommendations.

He hopes work on the bridges will begin this fall.
