Cyclist struck, critically hurt on West Hunt Club Road

Ottawa police and paramedics say a man in his 40s was struck by a car and critically injured Thursday night on West Hunt Cub Road near Merivale Road.

Ottawa police and paramedics say a man in his 40s was struck by a car and critically injured Thursday night on West Hunt Cub Road near Merivale Road.

Paramedics said they were called to the scene around 8 p.m. and took the man to hospital.

The police investigation closed West Hunt Club west of Merivale overnight. Police posted around 7 a.m. that it had reopened and said around 8:50 a.m. they were looking for witnesses.

No arrest or suspect information has been announced.

The crash happened about 10 kilometres south of the downtown core.
