It's no secret that Ottawa has already had its fair share of rain this spring. The persistent precipitation caused rivers in the region to burst their banks, flooding hundreds of homes. Many are still mopping up.

This month has already seen 175.8 millimetres of rain as of May 30, surpassing the 164 millimetres that fell in May 1986 to set a new record, and more than doubling the May average of 83 millimetres.

Though no new flooding is expected, we're not out from under the clouds yet: Wednesday calls for a chance of thunderstorms with a high of 19 C.

Expect more rain on Thursday and Friday to kick off June, with highs in the low 20s.

The sun will finally appear in time for the weekend, with a mix of sun and cloud on Saturday and Sunday.
